How the Mind Works

Reporters often depend on psychology experts to add credibility to their stories about how the mind works. Faculty members from our psychology department are always ready to offer their professional insights, whether in the local news or international media outlets.

Wane TV’s Kaitor Kay speaks to Associate Professor Jeannie DiClementi in this piece about habitual drunk driving offenders. DiClementi explains the behavioral effects that substance use has on judgment and decision-making.

Vice recently published this article about the various factors that play a role in our sense of direction, in which Professor Carol Lawton is quoted. She discusses some of the findings from her research on gender differences in spatial abilities and wayfinding.
