Philosophy students are representing our university and the College of Arts and Sciences at national conferences across the Midwest.
Kevin Smith (junior, philosophy) presented at Eastern Michigan University’s 8th Annual Undergraduate Conference in Philosophy on March 3. His paper, “Anselm’s Theory of Free Will and The Logical Problem of Moral Evil,” was created in preparation for an independent study with Dr. Charlene Elsby (philosophy). This was Smith’s sixth conference presentation.
On April 14, Matthew Wyss (senior, philosophy) presented at the Indiana Philosophical Association Spring 2018 Workshop in Indianapolis. He presented his paper, “Non-Temporal Unity as an Answer to the Regress Problem in Husserl’s 1905 Lectures on Time-Consciousness,” for which he won the 2018 Indiana Philosophical Association’s Undergraduate Paper Prize.
