A generous donation from Fort Wayne attorney, Mark D. Ulmschneider, has allowed the university to create The Ulmschneider Prize in Political Science. The award will benefit political science majors by rewarding both academic performance and achievement.
Ulmschneider has pledged to contribute $20,000 each year to the fund over the next three years. Beginning spring 2018, political science students will be able to apply for the award.
Ulmschneider, a well-known lawyer and community member, retired from Carson Boxberger, LLP, following 35 years of practice. Through the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, Ulmschneider has supported key Fort Wayne institutions such as the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, The Embassy Theatre, WBOI Public Radio, and Lutheran South Unity School.
