College of Arts and Sciences faculty organized and students participated in the first annual Friendly Interdepartmental Volleyball Tournament on September 16, 2016, at the IPFW Waterfield Student Housing Campus. The tournament was designed to be an opportunity for students to bond, practice cooperating toward a common goal, and discover the wider beauty of our campus.
Three teams of students formed on the spot to play for four hours and enjoy refreshments provided by the IPFW Departments of International Language and Culture Studies and Chemistry. According to the event’s coordinator, Associate Professor Lee Roberts (German), students “have already begun to ask when it will happen a second time. Next year, we hope to see as many as eight teams and a wider variety of food (and possibly prizes), too.”
