The Appleseed Writing Project will host two events in October 2016. The first event will be held October 8th from 9am to noon. This T3 (Teachers Teaching Teachers) workshop entitled “Reaching Reluctant Writers” is open to K-16 teachers and educators from all disciplines. The three concurrent fifty-minute sessions address topics about reluctant writers such as incorporating technology in the classroom, brainstorming, and more. Check-in is from 8:15-8:45am in the lobby of IPFW’s Liberal Arts Building with a welcome session at 8:45am, in room 136. Sessions begin at 9:00am. Check out the downloadable flier for registration fees, contact details, and more.
The Young Writer’s Showcase is also on October 8th, but from 12:30-2:00pm in the Walb Union Atrium (in the basement stairwell area beside the cafeteria). At the showcase, creative written works by students from grades 4 through 12 will be shared. Also, guest author Curtis Crisler will speak from 12:45-1:30pm, and a poster session will be open from 12:30-2:00pm. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
